Kalathattu was founded by Geetha S. Nair, a counselling psychologist and NSDC certified trainer, on June 16, 2021. It was later incorporated under the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act, 2013, with two directors, on July 21, 2022.

Kalathattu is a registered foundation, which is an international nexus of women from diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to empowering and enfranchising women across different communities. Our tagline, “Varoo Mindam Koottukoodam” meaning “Come, Talk, and Make Friendship,” embodies our philosophy: let’s share straight from the heart and help one another grow.

We stand for women, by women. Irrespective of age, caste, creed, or religion, Kalathattu provides a platform for women to identify, exhibit, and improve their talents, enhance their skills, and fulfill their long lost dreams.

Through counselling and training session periodically, we provide constant support for the mental and physical development of women. We help them improve their craftsmanship, offer opportunities to showcase their work to the public, and create pathways to earn a livelihood. Our aim is to equip women with the tools they need to achieve im life for an economic independence.

We are also committed to the advancement of education, and the promotion of social, cultural, economic, and medical relief for the underprivileged. In addition, we encourage growth in commerce, art, science, sports, education, research, social welfare, religion, charity, and environmental protection. We also undertake Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects on behalf of major companies and corporate bodies.
